Next-month capacity

Capacity shows next month before it starts: for each person, their available, committed, tentative and remaining time, with any conflicts flagged.

Calendars and leave

Finance adds a Working calendar / contractor availability for each person: the dates it covers, the available hours per working day, the working weekdays (Monday to Friday are ticked to start) and the timezone. A contractor's calendar records the availability they told you about.

Anyone can add their own Leave; finance can add leave for anyone. Other people see that leave was taken, not the reason.

Staffing

A lead (or finance) adds a Staff allocation: the engagement, the person, the dates, the hours per date and whether it is tentative or committed. Allocations apply to every date in their range.

Reading a person's card

• The ruler fills to the committed time, with tentative time hatched after it, against the available time at its end.
• capacity conflict means committed work is more than the person's available time on at least one date.
• Missing: availability unknown means some dates have no calendar. Gauge does not count those dates as zero; it shows what the supplied calendars confirm instead.
